This clip shows the beginning of a mating sequence. The female squid in the center of the picture shows a saddle display. The male squid enters from the left side and aligns himself in a parallel and diagonal position slightly behind the female and shows an intense flicker display. While chasing the female he tries to maintain his position towards her and holds his arms and tentacles slightly upbent to be in a good position for spermatophore delivery.
